Last Card of 2011 - Peace

HAPPY NEW YEAR!   Hope that you have a very properous and blessed New Year.  My card is one that I used a digi image from The Outlawz.  If you haven't been over to their website yet, you really need to check them out.  Every 2 weeks you can get at least 2 new free digi stamps and they are so beautiful.
This image was drawn by Sandi Huggett.  Isn't she adorable.  I used SU Tempting Turquoise as my base card.  I was reminded recently that I hadn't used vellum in a really long time, so I pulled out some of my stash and found this piece with snowflakes on it from Hot Off The Press.  I don't know if they are even still in business.  The doily is from my stash.  The ribbon is from Memory Makers - Blueberry from their Blue Lagoon collection.  The sentiment is from SU Glad Tidings stamp set punched using the SU Window Punch layered on a piece of Tempting Turquoise and then I cut around that to make a layer.  I used Frosted Lace Stickles on her wings.

I colored the image with Copics -- BG000, BG01, BG15 for the Gown; E50, E51, R12 for her skin; E23, E25, and E27 for her hair.  I also used a couple of my Spica Gel Pens which I haven't used in awhile.  Lipstick for her toenails; Baby Blue for her eyes, and Sand for her halo.

Sunny Thank You PSC 12

Hello again.  I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas.  I know I did.  I was blessed to be able to spend some time with my youngest daughter and her family.  They were supposed to be at her In-Laws, but her MIL came down with a sore throat and fever a couple days before Christmas so that had to be postponed.  Good for me though since I got to spend the time with them instead.

I was so glad to see this week's Perfect Sentiments Challenge.  I seriously need some Thank You cards and this one will jump start me into making a few.

The challenge was to make a card with the sentiment of Thank You.  The twist was to use the following sketch for the layout.
Our Sponsor this week is Patties Creations and the prize is one free digi image.  I checked out her Etsy store and she has some pretty amazing images over there.

Here is a link to her store:  http://www.etsy.com/shop/pattiescreations

I decided to go back to one of my favorite SU stamp sets - Heartfelt Thanks which is a double stamp set and it always makes up to a great looking card.

I used SU Daffodil Delight as the base for my card.  The image was stamped first with SU Daffodil Delight and Pear Pizzazz which I brushed onto the stamp.  Using my Stamp-a-ma-Jig, I was able to position the top layer which I stamped using SU Peach Parfait and Always I then used my SU Ticket punch to clip all the corners and then matted it onto Daffodil Delight which I matted onto Peach Parfait, clipping each layer of corners with the Ticket Punch.  I used a piece of SU Sunny Garden on top of the base and under my image mat.  For my sentiment, I stamped Thanks using Peach Parfait onto GP white and also matted it onto the Daffodil Delight and Peach Parfait and then skewed it a little.  I used 2 Recollection Floral Embellishments to finish it off.

Stained Glass Poinsettias

Wow!  It's almost the end of the month and I'm just now getting around to making a card from the December Monthly Challenge kit sent by Amy Phelps.  There were 3 great images and I chose this one to start - stained glass poinsettias.  I took the colors for the image from the piece of dp.

Since it was a kit from someone else, I'm not really sure where the image and sentiment came from.  I used SU Cherry Cobler for the base of the card.  I matted the dp and the image on a piece of SU Really Rust.  I used a piece of SU Really Rust with the Spellbinders Ribbon Tag Shapeabilities Die and then mounted the sentiment on top of that.  The ribbon and little clip are from my stash.  I used a few dew drops on opposite corners just to add a little bling.

The Copics I used for coloring were:  BG0000, BG000, BG01; E04, E18, G05, G07, G09, G85; R35, R37, R39, R509; Y13, Y15; YR12, and YR14.

Christmas Mailbox

Ever have one of those days when you have something in your mind to do, and you try every which way to get it done and it just won't work!  That's what was happening in my life on Sunday.  I had a card in mind for this image - digi stamp from The Outlawz.  But my color scheme was all blues.  I just knew it would turn out so cute.  Well, try as I could, it just wouldn't work.  The colors were wrong, the dp was not working for it.  Finally, I just put it all aside and went off to church and then to my daughter's house for dinner.  I didn't get home until about 8:30 and decided to give it another try only this time I was going to try a different color scheme.  I'd go back to the time tried Christmas red and green.  Voila!  I picked out SU Jolly Holiday for my dp.  SU Ruby Red and Pear Pizazz were perfect for the c/s.
I just love the way it turned out.  The layout is from MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge 49.  The small straight layers are from K & Co. and the brads are from my stash.  The Copics I used to color the image are:  B000; BG0000; C00, C1, C2, C3, C5; E19, E21, E23, E27, E42; G14, G17; and R46.

Thanks for stopping by.  I appreciate your comments.  Merry Christmas.  Hope you have a wonderful holiday.

PSC11 - Forever Together

Wish I could say that I was finally better, but I've still got that lingering cough going on.  Didn't let it stop me though from getting my card ready for the Perfect Sentiments Challenge No. 11 for today.

Our sponsor this week is Shelly's Images.  Check out her store here:  http://www.shellysimages.com/

The prize this week is: $9 Gift Voucher equivalent to 3 digital images.
So, let's get to the challenge for this week.
Challenge: Create a card that reflects a sentiment for a marriage anniversary

Twist: use the following photo as inspiration for the design of your card.

I had the idea in my head for my card for awhile, but wasn't sure how it was going to translate into a card.  I was surprised that once I started working on it, it really did just all come together.  Only thing was that I forgot that I needed to use the picture as my inspiration.  Well, I was really inspired because even without the photo in my head, the card came out just the way I wanted it to and covered all the bases for the photo.
My card is a gate fold, which I think is hard because there really isn't any way to keep it closed unless you put some kind of tie around it and mine just didn't lend itself to that.  First is a photo of the front of the card.
I relate the gate fold to the curtains in the photo.  The rest is all color.  The base is PTI White c/s.  I used a layer of silver metallic and embossed it using the SU Tulip frame embossing folder.  Then I cut that in half and adhered 1/2 of it to each side of the gate.  I love how that looks.  The image is stamped in Versamark with a stamp from Inkadinkado - Man and Woman which I emobssed with black embossing powder.  I used Spellbinders Nestabilities Label 4 to cut it out and then matted it on a piece of SU Bashful Blue also cut with the same Label 4 die cut - one size up.  The bow is from Martha Stewart - Silver Bow Stickers.  Just adds the right touch to it.

But that isn't all.  It needed a sentiment and some bling!  So here's the inside.

The sentiment is from Hampton Art Stamps - Love Words which I also stamped with Versamark and embossed with the black embossing powder on SU Bashful Blue and layered that on the inside of the base card.  It needed just a little more something so I used a Martha Stewart Gemstone Mini Flower sticker up in the right-hand corner.  I just love bling.
I really love the way it all turned out.  This is going to a very special couple who is celebrating their 20th Wedding Anniversary in January.

Thanks for stopping by.  I appreciate your comments

And the Stockings Were Hung.

I have some really exciting news.  As you can see from the Badge over to the right, I am a Guest Designer for December for Perfect Sentiment Challenge blog.  I'm really stoked to have been invited to be part of this awesome group of ladies.

The Perfect Sentiments Challenge happens every Wednesday and always has a twist.  This week the Challenge is A Sparkly Christmas. Challenge: Create a card that reflects a sentiment for Christmas

Twist: Make it sparkle- use glitter, shimmer mists, glittered cardstock or paper etc. You can never have too much sparkle.

I got this cute digi stamp from The Outlawz designed by Sandi Huggett.  Isn't she just the cutest thing ever.

The card base is SU Bashful Blue.  I found the dp in my Christmas stash and just knew that I wanted to create something with it a little outside the box - not the usual Christmas colors.  The layers were all matted with Bashful Blue.  I put some red stickles on her dress bow and also added some to the Recollections flower.  The lace strip is also from Recollections as well as the leaves.  That upper right corner just cried out for a little bling.

Of course I used my Copic markers to color the image:  BG01; G03; G05, G14; E50; E51, Y15, Y18; T5, T6; R24, R27, R32, R35, R37, R50, R81, R83, R85.

And I must give credit for the inspiration of this card to Michele Boyer.  I CASE'd her card on page 28-29 of the Copic Coloring Guide.

This week's sponsor is:

Mini Bowdabra Bows

Hi Bloggers.  Most of you have probably seen my "Let It Snow" card that I posted here on my blog about a month ago.  The other day I was contacted by Sarah Forhan -  Bowdabra's Head Designer and the coordinator and editor for our Bowdabra Blog.  She asked me if it would be okay to have my card posted on their blog.  Of course I say yes!!  I must say, I have NEVER been a good bow maker so getting my Mini Bowdabra was the best thing I have ever done for my card making.  So yesterday, my card was posted on their blog here - http://bowdabrablog.com/2011/12/05/let-it-snow-seasons-greeting-holiday-card-with-mini-bowdabra-snowflake-bow/

The Mini Bowdabra and the regular size are such usual tools for so many projects as you can see on their blog.  Lots of wonderful ideas for gifts and personal items.  I hope you'll stop by their blog and check them out.

Toy Stocking

This card is good for two challenges:  SC121 on Splitcoaststampers.com.  I cased this card by charmedstamper http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1109820?&si=SC121

The second is for the Freebie Challenge over on The Outlawz.  The image is a digi stamp designed by Sandi Huggett.

I had fun playing with this one.  I haven't used many digital stamps so I'm still getting the hang of how to resize them for a card.  The sentiment is from an old stamp set I have from See D's, Holiday Words and Sayings.

The c/s is SU Green Galore for the card base and the mats are SU Real Red and Green Galore under the sentiment.  The dp is from my stash as are the 2 green glitter swirls.

I used my Copic markers to color the image:  B91, B93; E21, E23, E25, E50, E51; G14, G16, G17; R30, R32, R35, R37; RV29, RV99; W0, Y02, Y04, and Y08.

I added some Christmas Green Stickles to the stocking for some added pizazz!

Thanks for stopping by.  I appreciate all comments.  Have a great day!
