Christmas Card Challenge October 2011 No. 3

Well, I was really on a roll this week and so far have gotten 3 cards done for October Challenge.  The image is also from Magnolia Stamps - Tilda with Mistletoe.  Isn't she precious?
Again the card base is SU Real Red.  Not sure where the pattern paper came from.  Found it in my stash.  I matted the image with SU Pear Pizzazz.  The ribbon is SU Red Riding Hood taffeta, and I popped a Prima flower in the middle of it.  The Copics I used were B0000, Y21, Y28, R20, R22, R24, R27, R29, YG0000, YG01, YG03, E000, E01, E11, E18, E31, E33, E34, and E35.

Thanks for coming by and leaving a comment.  All are appreciated.

Christmas Card Challenge October 2011 No. 2

I need to come up with 5 cards for the Christmas Card Challenge each month.  This is No. 2.  I'm in love with coloring and trying to add a little more to the layout.  I love looking at the Whiff of Joy website and scroll through all their beautiful cards.  I love all the extras the cardmakers add to their cards.  They are all so beautiful.
I really had a fun time with this one.    Again going through my stash of images and came across this one - Tilda with Wreath by Magnolia Stamps.  Sometimes I color first; sometimes I pick paper first.  This time I colored and was lucky to find this paper to complement it.  I used SU Real Red for the card base and mat.  The DP is Basic Gray Eskimo Kisses.  Ribbon is some I bought at Reasonable Ribbon awhile back.  The flowers are from Prima.  The Copics I used were B0000, R20, R21, R22, R29, W00, YG03, YG93, E000, E01, E11, E30, E31, E33, E41, E43, and E44.

Thanks for coming by and leaving a comment.  I appreciate them all.

Christmas Card Challenge October 2011 No. 1

The other day I was going through my pile of images and pieces of things that I'd put aside and would use someday.  Found these and decided that someday was here.  That's one of the aspects of Stamp 2 Spend - use up what you have.  Of course, I'm a sucker for ribbon and paper so it's hard for me to stay in the black.
The card base is Cranberry Crisp that I made a few years ago by spraying it with a gold webbing spray.  I had the 3 wise men in my stash and used my Copic markers to color them in.  I mounted that panel on a gold metallic panel and adhered it to the card base.  The Star and Sentiment come from the SU Snow Twirled set and I used the SU oval scallop punch to punch out the sentiment and popped it up over the main panel.  The Copics I used were W9 to darken up the camels, R39, YR23, BG05, BG53, E30, and E31.

September 2011 Christmas Card Challenge + 2

I started out to get a jump on my September cards for the SCS Christmas Card Challenge, and ended up doing 2 other challenges with it.  The layout is the current SCS Sketch Challenge 346, and it also is used for the SCS Stamp 2 Spend Challenge #3.  I picked out the stamp first and then went looking for a layout and thought the 346 would be perfect.  I love Whiff of Joy stamps and hadn't used this one yet.
The stamp is Whiff of Joy - Uru and Candycane; sentiment is also WOJ - Season's Greetings.  I also purchased the matching die that I used to cut out the tag - really cool.

The card base, mat, and sentiment are SU Cherry Cobbler; dp is Basic Gray, Figgy Pudding collection - Red Ryder (love it).  I stamped on GF white using Memento Tuxedo Black.  I stamped the sentiment with SU Craft White. Not sure where I got the ribbon, but it says it's Robert Stanley Collection.  The flowers are from Prima's Holiday Poinsettia collection when a dot of gold bling in the center.  I love bling.  The sentiment is popped up using dimentionals.

Of course I colored it with my Copics - E0000, E01, E02; E35, E37, E39, R39, R32, R35, R37, G09, W0.

I dug out a bottle of White Smooch which is pearlized ink and used that on the candycane which gives it a little glimmer.

Stamp 2 Spend Tree Challenge

The Stamp 2 Spend Challenge this week was to use trees - a tree or a branch to commemorate Kelly losing 4 of her trees in a bad storm the other night.  Thank goodness none of them feel on her house or caused any real damage except she lost power for 2 days.  I've had this stamp set for some time and have never taken it out of the case, but it was just perfect for this challenge.
I used SU Whisper White for the base; GP White to stamp the images.  I love the SU dp Afternoon Tea that I used here.  Actually I love most all pattern paper.  I'm seriously addicted.  The images are from a See D's stamp set called Asian.  The sentiment is stamped with SU Wild Wasabi and the image is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black, my black of choice.  I thought it needed a little something in the corner, so I put a few brads over there.  I wanted to use some ribbon, but there wasn't really any room for it.  I popped the sentiment up on dimensionals over the main image.  The image was colored with Copics -- C00; C2, C4; E35, E37, W0, W00, W2, W4, YG0000, YG01, YG03, YG61, and YT63.

Cats Rule; Dogs Drool No. 3

Had fun playing with this image from the Cats Rule; Dogs Drool swap I did awhile back.  I have no idea where the image is from.
I used SU Ballet Blue for the card base - 5 1/2 x 5 1/2.  Brocade Blue was used as a mat for the image and the sentiment.  The border strip I used from the August Monthly Challenge swap.  It's Elegant Accents Die from Clear Dollar Stamps cut from Bee Pollen c/s also by Clear Dollar Stamps.  The Ribbon is SU Blue Bayou Double Stitched.  The Copics I used were B0000, B21, B95; W0, W2, W3, W4, N4, N5, N7, R21, YG13, YR23, E11, E13, E17, E31, E34, and E35.  I was pleased how the shading turned out on the dogs.  I also used some blue stickles on the dog's collar.

Thanks for stopping by.

August Christmas Card Challenge

This is my card for the SU Christmas Card Challenge.  I've committed to making 5 each month.  The image is Sarah Angel from Rubber Stampede stamps.

I used SU Marina Mist for the base and the mat.  The image is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black.  The dp is Basic Gray Figgy Pudding. Finally used my sewing machine to sew the strip onto the Figgy Pudding under the mat.  I used the SU Marina Mist stamp pad to color the white seam binding that I used for the ribbon.  This was my first attempt at coloring white ribbon.  Pretty easy.  A little messy, but easy.  I put a little Martha Stewart fine glitter on the angels wings.  The Copics I used for coloring were B0000, B21, B23, G0000, G05, G12, G21; E0000, E21, E23, E33, E50, R12, R24, and R29.

August 2011 Monthly Challenge Card No. 2

I've been really busy the last week or more.  So behind in my posts  I've got 3 to post today starting with this one.  This is my second card from the SCS Monthly Challenge swap that I'm in.  I got my image and paper from Shell.
I used SU Pixie Pink for the base and the mats.  The image is Clear Dollar Stamps Ice Cream Cone and the sentiment is from SU It's Your Birthday.  The dp is from the DCWV Blossoms & Butterflies stack.  I got the flowers, brads, and ribbon from my stash and used the SU large Tag Punch for the sentiment.  Of course I colored with my Copics.  I used E00, E15, E31, E33, E34, RV02, RV13, RV14, R35, R37, R39, and B0000.  I also used a touch of Crystal Effects on the ice cream to give it some shine.

Thanks for looking and your comments.

August 2011 Monthly Challenge Card No. 1

This is from a card kit sent by Shell for the SCS Monthly Challenge for August.  She sent the image, pattern paper, sentiment, and flower.  It was my job to make it into a card.
I used SU YoYo Yellow for the base and also the mat for the sentiment; SU Garden Galore to mate the image.  The image is a Clear Dollar stamp - Birthday Cake Swirls and the sentiment - It's a Party.  The pattern paper is from DCWV Blossoms & Butterflies.  The lace trim I found at Walmart and the flower is from Hobby Lobby.  I colored the cake with my Copic markers:  Y0000, Y11, Y13, Y15, Y18, G000, G12, G14, G40, RV00, RV02, R21, and BG0000.
I like the sparkles on the pattern paper.  This one has already found a home.
