It's been some time since I've been able to play with Teapot Tuesday.  This is the fun week when we play "Tickle a Teapotter" where you sign up to play and then are given the name of another Teapotter to send your card to.  We do have a theme and you can read about it HERE.  When I read about it, I knew that I had this image that would be perfect for it.

The image if from Digistamps4joy.   I used SU Groovy Guava as my card base and mat for the image.  The paper Authentique - Delightful and I really love it.  The border is from SU and cut using Groovy Guava and the ribbon as well as the sentiment are also from SU - Fancy Flexible Phrases.  I used my Copic markers to fill in the image where I didn't paper piece it - B000; BG0000, BG11; E50, E51, E53; E35; Y08, Y11, Y19; N0 (shadows on the dress).

Birthday Blast

Happy Friday my friends.  Hope you are having a wonderful day and looking forward to a fun and relaxing weekend.  I know I am.  I am actually off work today.  I had a company come to refinish my bathtub and the 2 bathroom sinks.  My house was built in 1958 and the tub and sinks were really showing their age.  Now they are all sparkly bright white.

Can we ever have too many birthday cards?  I know that I’m always trying to play catch up to have a few on hand when a birthday sneaks up on me, besides making birthday cards is fun!  Today I have a card for you that I made for Bowdabra using the Mini Bowdabra Hair Bow Tool and Ruler.  You can see my full tutorial on how to make the bow HERE.

This was such a fun card to make.  The sketch is from Mojo Monday No. 174.

Materials Used:
  • Image – MayzyArt Stamps - Birthday Horn
  • Sentiment – Computer generated.
  • Cardstock – Xpress It Blending Card; Stampin Up Brocade Blue
  • Designer Paper – Basic Gray – Cupcake collection
  • 3/8″ Light Blue Gingham Bobbin Ribbon - Michaels

Tango Whispy - PSC 41

Hello again my friends.  Happy Wednesday.  You're going to love our challenge this week.  Yep!  It's Anything Goes!  Don't you just love that.  You can create anything that you like: card, tag, altered item. Be sure to include a sentiment on the front.  What can I say - I love making cards.  Here's mine.

This card was actually created to be submitted to an online magazine, but was not selected, so I chose to share it with you for this challenge.  The theme had been to use Tangerine Tango as the main color which is why there is so much orange, but I love how it turned out.

The image is Whispy from Saturated Canary.  She has got some of the best digi images.  It was printed out on Xpress It Blending Card.  I used Stampin Up Tangerine Tango for the card base and all the mats.  The dp is from Bo Bunny - Country Garden.  It was just perfect for this.  The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley, stamped with Basic Black on Stampin Up Whisper White.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  Do you like those little squiggles coming off the flowers?  It took me some time to figure that out, but all you do is NOT cut off the stems of the flowers, but instead twist them around a thin pencil or some other kind of stick to make the curlies.  Easy peasy.

The image was coloried with Copic markers:  Skin - E04, E11, E50, R08; Eyes - B0000; Hair: Y00, Y17, Y18; Clothing:  G82, YG61, YG63, YR00, YR02, YR15, YR18.

I also used some Frosted Lace Stickles on her wings.

Our sponsor for this week is Avocado Arts:

And the prize that you are playing for is this fabulous stamp set.
Wish I was able to play to get this one.  Lots of fun images.  So, now you just need to go to your stamping place and create something!   For more inspiration, hop on over to the Perfect Sentiment Challenge blog and see what the rest of the Design Team has for you this week.  I've gotten a peek and there is some great creativity going on.

With your creation you could be the winner of the fabulous prize shown above or you might be picked as one of the Perfect 3!  Good luck.  Have a fabulous week!

That's Crappie - Teapot Tuesday

No, it isn't Tuesday, but I was rather busy earlier this week and didn't have the chance to get this one finished and posted.  This week our cards go to Heath.  To read his story, go here - http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/19539888-post304.html  If you would like to join in, please feel free to make a card and send to him.

I think this stamp is so cute and have been wanting to ink it up for some time now.  The image and sentiment are both from "Something Fishy" from My Favorite Things.  I stamped it on Xpress It Blending Card.  The card base and all the mats are Stampin Up Kiwi Kiss as well as the ink for the sentiment.  The paper is from the Basic Gray Marjolaine collection.  Was perfect for this.  I put a little light blue stickles on my fish to give it some sparkle.  The brads are from my stash.

The image is colored with Copic markers:  B0000, B21, BG01, BG10, BG11, E17, E25, E31, E34, E37; E50, E51, E53; R01, YG0000, YG01, YG03, YG11, YG13, YG23, W0, and 0

Christmas in July

Good morning and Happy Thursday.  I know so many people are experiencing very hot and dry weather.  I feel your pain.  Here in Texas we went through that the last 2 years.  This summer we are so blessed to be having rain and more rain!   I hate to complain about it though cause I don't want it to go away.  That said, I hope that you will soon get relief from the scorching temps.  Maybe this card will help you think cold!  Is it ever too early to start getting ready for Christmas?   I think not!  How about getting started on those Christmas cards.  You know you are always scrambling at the last minute trying to get them all signed and addressed!  With just a few tools, you can hand make your own cards this year.  Here is a card that I created for Bowdabra using my Mini Bowdabra Hair Tool and Ruler.

Materials Used:

  • Saturated Canary – Christmas Angel
  • Cardstock – Xpress It Blending Card; Stampin Up – Really Red
  • Designer Paper – Stampin Up – Holly Berry Bouquet
  • Sentiment – My Favorite Things – Winter in the City
  • Ink – Stampin Up – Real Red
  • Flower – Wang’s International, Inc.
  • Ribbon – green gingham – from my stash
  • Loopy Mat – Cricut Cartridge – Elegant Edges
  • Cricut Expression
  • Copic Markers
  • Mini Bowdabra
  • Hair Bow Tool & Ruler
If you'd like to check out how I made the bow, hop on over to the Bowdabra website and check out the tutorial I posted over there.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving your comments.  I appreciate each of them.  Hope you have a fabulous day!

There's a Time - PSC40

Happy Wednesday my friends.  That means it's time for another Perfect Sentiment challenge.  This week the challenge is to use your favorite scripture or quote.  The twist is to use the following sketch for your layout.

So, here is my card.
The digital image is from Fred She Said.  The digital sentiment is from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  I used Stampin Up Summer Sun c/s for the base of the card and also for the mat of the sentiment.  The d/p is Bo Bunny Country Garden collection.  The ribbon is from Stampin Up.  You know how difficult it is to get your ribbon tails to both face the same direction when you used one-sided ribbon.  To get them both the same, I used my Mini Bowdabra Hair Tool and Ruler to make the bow. The little bling butterfly is from K & Company, Berry Sweet collection.  I used Copic markers to color the tulips -- Y11, Y21, Y35; YG00, YG03, YG06, YG45.

This week our sponsor is Shelly's Images and the prize is one free digi. Stop by her store and see all the pretty images she has.
Now that's all taken care of, stop on by Perfect Sentiment and see what the rest of the Design Team has been up to!  Then get going in your craft room and join in.  You could be the winner this week or one of the Perfect 3!  Good luck to all.

I'm submitting this card to the following challenges:

Clear It Out - Something Yellow
Jackson's Digital Expressions - Anything Goes
Stamp N Plus - Anything Goes
Try It On Tuesday - Bingo - Ribbon, bling, 2 papers
The Crafty Blogger - Anything Goes
Make it Monday - Anything Goes
Marker POP - Pastels
Tammy's Scrapin Corner - Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by and leaving your comments.  I truly appreciate each one.  Have a great Wednesday!

A Big Texas Hug - The Outlawz 2000 Member Party

The final card for today has already  been sent off to someone.  My grandson is going to Scout Camp this coming week. He and his dad leave tomorrow.  In order for him to get mail, it needed to be sent to the camp by today, so I put this one in the mail to him yesterday.  I thought the sentiment was so appropriate.

The image is called Patriotic Horse and is from Forgotten Scraps.  I thought he was so cute and turned out to be so perfect for the challenge and my grandson.  The sentiment is a stamp I picked up a few years ago when I was up in North Texas.  It's made by Deadbeat Designs.  I stamped it with SU Night of Navy on SU Whisper White and cut it out using a Marvey Oval Punch.  It's matted on a piece of SU Night of Navy c/s punched out using a Marvey scalloped oval punch.  The base and mat for the image are both SU Night of Navy.  The d/p again from my same stash.  The ribbon is from Michael's.  The Copics I used for this were B0000; B14, B24, B29; E17, E23, E37, E81, E84; R17, R29, R46; Y13, Y18; W0, W2, W4, W6; 0, White Opaque Pen.  The flag on the image was just plain.  I drew in the dividing lines and the star using a Multiliner Pen 03.

Freedom Bear - Outlawz Color Party

Card No. 2 was for the Color Party Challenge which was to use the colors of where we are from, and since I'm from the USA, the colors were Red, White, & Blue.
I call this one Freedom Bear.  The digi image is Patriotic Bear from Meljen's Designs which is printed on Xpress It Blending Card. The sentiment on this one is a sticker from a Patriotic package from Momenta.  The c/s I used is Stamping Up Real Red.  Again, the dp is from my stash.  The Copics I used for this one were B0000; B21, B24, B26; E30, E31, E34, E35; R01, R08, R17, R29, R46, and Y18.

I had to made separate posts for these other 2 so they could each get linked to win a prize.

I Heart the USA - The Outlawz 2000 Member Party!

Hello, my friends and Happy Saturday.  Today is the last day to submit projects for The Outlawz 2000 Member Party challenges.  I have 3 cards that I have not posted yet for the challenges so I thought I'd just group them all as one post rather than making 3 separate ones, but then I found out that I needed to have each on a separate post to submit for the Monthly Prize.

The first card is for the Greetings Party Challenge and the challenge was "Your Country."

I, of course, live in the United States of America, so I thought this cute image from Operation Write Home called I Heart the USA would be perfect.  I printed the image on XPress It Blending Card off my computer.  The Sentiments:  Red, White & Blue were computer generated and each was cut and mounted on a piece of red mulberry cardstock which I also used to cut the doily which the image is mounted on.  The blue star paper and the red/blue star paper are both from my stash.  I used these pretty much for these cards.  The Copics I used were R08, R17, R29, R49, and B29.  Very Simple.

That's it for today.  Thanks for stopping by and leaving your comments.  They are very appreciated.  Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

By The Sea

Hello my friends!  Can I just say how much I love all of you who come and leave comments on my blog.  I can't always reply to each comment, but I do truly appreciate the time that you take to leave your comments.  I love what I create and am so thrilled that someone else likes what I do also.    Sorry, don't want to get too mushy.

If you don't know about The Outlawz, you should.  This is a great bunch of crafters who enjoy challenges, creating, and also letting each other know that their work is appreciated.  You can check them out HERE.  It's a forum where there is something for everyone - a challenge every day plus you can get some free digi images every other Sunday.

The past couple of weeks they've been having a "2000 Member Party" to celebrate reaching the goal of having 2000 members!  Makes sense, right!  ;)   They have been having some special games and challenges for the party.  So far I've created 3 cards for 3 challenges and I'm going to post them all and any more that I can get done before Saturday starting tonight.  The first one is this one that I did for the "Sunday Party Challenge" which was to create a CAS card using the theme of "Summer."

I'm sorry that I don't know where the image is from.  I've looked all through my digi stamps and it didn't come from there, so it must have been one that someone sent to me.  If any of you recognize it, please leave me a comment and tell me where it's from.  I really thought it was such a cute image.  The Sentiment is from Stampin Up - Pursuit of Happiness which is stamped in Brocade Blue and cut using the SU Label Punch.  I punched out another label from the Brocade Blue to use as a shadow to the sentiment.

The card base is SU Barely Banana.  I'm so bummed that they have retired this color.  It has always been one of my favorites.  The Loopy mat is cut using Cricut Cartridge Elegant Edges out of Brocade Blue.  The DP is from the paper pad Down the Boardwalk from Memory Keepers.  I matted the Guava DP strip on a piece of SU Groovy Guava c/s.  The last thing is the little strip of ribbon which is Stampin Up Bluebird grosgrain ribbon (retired).

The image was colored with my Copic markers:  B00, B000, B0000, B21; E50, E51, E53, R01; E81, E84; E25, E29, E57, E93, E95; YR02; G00, G12; Y15, Y17, and Y38.

I am submitting this card to the following challenges:

Sparkles Monthly - Summer Fun
Mema's Crafts - Anything Goes
Creatalicious - Anything Goes
Card Cupids - Ribbon, Twine, or Washi Tape
By the Cute and Girly - A Day at the . .. (Beach)
Whimsy Stamps - Anything Goes
Paper Pretties - Any Occasion
Little Red Wagon - Life's A Beach

That's it for tonight.  I'll have another one for you tomorrow.  Got to go link this up to the Outlawz challenge.  Thanks again for stopping by and leaving your comment.  Have a fabulous Friday!

Berry Betsy Birthday - PSC 39

Hello Friends, and Happy 4th of July!!!!!   I hope you are all enjoying a day off from work and spending time with family and/or friends, or maybe just enjoying a quiet day at home.  Wednesday also means it's time for another Perfect Sentiment challenge.  You're going to like this one!  In honor of Independence Day, it's ANYTHING GOES!  You can also choose what type of project you want to make - it does not have to be a card as long as you have a sentiment on the front.  But there is a twist.  Besides having a sentiment on the front of your card, you must use the colors - red, white & blue!  It doesn't have to be patriotic, but you need to use those colors.

Our sponsor this week is Crafty Sentiments Designs.  You can shop at their store HERE.

That's not such a good picture, but the best I can do.  The prize this week to one lucky person is 3 digital stamps from the CSD store.  Lots of cute things over there.

Now, on to my card.

I'm sorry it's not such a great photo, but I think the blue glitter paper kind of washed out the image photo.  My youngest daughter celebrated her "over 29" birthday on Sunday, July 1, and I made this card for her, so it's already been given away.

Materials Used:
  • Image - Berry Betsy - Mayzy Arts
  • Sentiment - Computer generated printed off my computer on SU Whisper White and cut with the large SU Oval Punch and matted on SU Night of Navy, punched with the SU Scallop Oval Punch.
  • Cardstock - Xpress It Blending Card; Gina K 120# white; SU Night of Navy; SU Real Red
  • Paper - Red Star;  Glitter from Recollections
  • Trim - Art Minds - Glitter Lines - Royal
  • Flowers - Wild Orchid Crafts
  • Leaves - Martha Stewart Fir Branch punch
  • Copics - C0; E00, E11, E04; E23, E25; G12; B21, B34, B41, B45; R05, R17, R27; Y11, Y15, Y17; White Gel Pen
Now check out what the rest of the Design Team has come up with to inspire you this week over at the Perfect Sentiment Challenge.  You might win those 3 digi images or be picked as one of the Perfect 3.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Creatalicious - Anything Goes
Mema's Crafts - Anything Goes
Oozak - Bright Colors
Jackson's Digital Expressions - Anything Goes + Flowers
