Patty Bear

Hello again!  Hope you've had a great Wednesday.  Happy Hump Day.  Happy Leap Day!  Great news!  Today is my first OFFICIAL day as a Design Team Member for BOWDABRA!  I'm really excited.  I've already been featured on their blog, but now it's official!  Here is my first card which is featured on the Bowdabra Blog today.
The image is a digi stamp from Shelly's Images - Beary Lucky which is printed on Copic Blending Paper, and the sentiment is from Rubber Hedgehog which I stamped with SU Garden Green.  The cardstock base is Gina K Designs White and the mats are Stampin Up Garden Green.  The dp I used is from my stash.  The image is cut using Nestabilities Circle Die and the mat is cut with the Circle Scallop Die.  The glitter hat is from Recollections.  The ribbon is from my stash, but the bow was made using my Bowdabra Tool and Ruler.  Check out the tutorial here

The Copics I used for coloring were:  E27, E30, E31, E34, E35; G03, G05; G07, G19; T5, T6, T7; Y13, Y17, Y18, Y19, Y26, Y28, YG11, YG13, and W0.

Thanks for stopping by.  I do appreciate your time in leaving a comment.  Have a great week!

Sympathy in Purple - PSC21

Happy Wednesday!  What a fun challenge we have this week at Perfect Sentiments Challenge.  The Design Team had a Round Robin Die Cut Exchange which meant that from the list, we each received a variety of die cuts from one of the other DT members and then sent our selection of die cuts to another DT Member. one.  It was a challenge trying to figure out what to send and I was pleasantly surprised when I got my package from Theresa with a ton of punches and die cuts of such variety.  Then we had to use at least one of the die cuts we received on the front of the card we were making for this weeks' challenge.  It was hard to decide, but my favorite color is PURPLE so I went with that one.  Here is the card that I fashioned.
Isn't that a gorgeous die cut!  The image is from Gina K Designs - Baskets of Happiness, which is stamped with Tuxedo Memento Black on Copic Blending Paper.  The sentiment is from Stampin Up - Close as a Memory.

The cardstock base is SU Lavendar Lace and the sentiment is stamped with Lovely Lilac on GP White and layered on SU Concord Crush.  The die cut looks like it was also cut from Concord Crush.  The pattern paper is also from Gina K Designs - Wisteria Lane (love this).  The ribbon is from my stash and I glued a little purple flower which comes from Modern Romance in the middle of it.

I colored the image with my Copics - E00, E27, E29; BV0000, BV11, BV13, BV17; YG93, YG95; RV99; YR14, YR16, YR18, YR23.

Remember, the challenge is to make a card using a Die Cut on the front.  The Twist is you can use any sentiment you like on the card, but it must be on the front of the card.  The sponsor this week is -

Now that you've checked out my creation, pop on over to Perfect Sentiments and see what the rest of the Design Team has come up with this week.  Fabulous creations! And then get creating and join in the fun.

Make A Wish

I have fallen behind in my cardmaking for the My Favorite Things Weekly Stamp Club, but am trying to catch up and keep up!  LOL!  Here's a link to this weeks Sketch Challenge.  I have a lot going on in March with birthdays and such.  Since it's March and St. Patty's Day is coming up, I thought I'd make a card in honor of the day.
The image is from Rubber Hedge Hog stamped on Copic Blending paper.  He's so cute.  I used Stampin Up Green Galore as the base for the card and also for the scalloped mat.  The label is stamped using SU A Little Birthday Cheer stamp set and SU Garden Green ink and scalloped border are from GP White.  The pattern paper is from my stash.  Other materials:  Middle flower is a Prima that I got as a gift from some company I purchased stuff from.  The 2 yellow flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  Glitter Leaves are from Recollections and the bling is from The Paper Co. Studio - Christmas Treasures collection.

Copics used to color are:  G03, G07, G14, R20, E50, E51, E53, E00, E02, W00, W0 and W2.

This is submitted to MFTWSC60.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving your comment.  I hope I've made things easier to do that.  Have a fabulous Tuesday.

Yellow Mustang

Good morning!  Looks like time for another Teapot Tuesday.  This week is usually Tickle a Teapotter where we would send to one of the other Teapotters, but this time we are all sending to one of our own.  Her name is Robin, and her husband was killed in a freak accident in January.  You can read about their story HERE.  Robin loves the beach and all things beachy.  She also drives a yellow Mustang hence the theme of my card.  ;)
I had this great car stamp Holiday Cruiser from Craft Lounge that was just perfect.  Well, not quite a Mustang, but it is yellow.  ;)  I couldn't find a seagull stamp, so I just went to the friendly Internet and found this cute image which I downloaded, re-sized, cut out, and stuck on there as the driver and passengers in the car.  A bright sun adds to the hot, beachy theme.  I think the paper I used gives the feeling of water.  It's from Basic Gray - Succulent and Yumberry from the Hello Lucious paper collection.  It is layered on a card base of Stampin Up Confetti Cream.  The Sentiment is from the SU Best Yet stamp set.  It's stamped on GP White using SU Burmuda Bay ink and punched out with the SU Oval Punch.  I used a piece of the BG Succulent to mat it with after punching it out with the SU Scalloped Oval Punch.  The ribbon is from my stash.

Of course I used my Copic markers to color in the car - BG0000, B0000, R46, Y11, Y13, Y15, W0, W2, and W4.

If you'd like to play along, visit this thread for Robin's address and the rest of the story.

I also submitted this card to The Outlawz Greeting Card Challenge this week.  It was a "recipe" challenge to use 2 papers and 2 embellishments on the card plus ribbon. I was also picked to be in the running to win the February prize.  Wish me luck!

Thanks for coming by and leaving a comment.  I appreciate the time it takes to do that.  Happy Tuesday!

Hello Kitty

I made this card for my first ever submission to a magazine.  It was rejected.  :(  Oh well, it was only my first time and I plan to try again and again.  It's my dream.  I really liked the way it turned out and thought it really followed the sketch and requirements they were looking for.  It will be interesting to see what was accepted when the magazine is released.
The image is by Krista Smith over at Saturated Canary.  She's got lots of lovely images to choose from.
Materials I used:
Cardstock - Gina K designs White; Copic Blending Paper; SU Handsome Hunter
Paper - Basic Gray - Phresh & Phunky collection
Ink - Stampin Up Rose Romance (retired)
Sentiment - Hero Arts - Thinking of You.
Accessories:  Martha Stewart Punch - Branch
Glue and Fine Silver Glitter
Flowers - Whiff of Joy - Curly Rose; Wild Orchid Crafts mini roses.

Of course I used my Copic markers to color the image -- BG0000, BG000; BG10, BG11; R0000, R000, R01, R59, R81, R83, R85; E50, E51, E51; Y02, Y11, Y18, Y19; W00, W1, W3, W4, W6.

Thanks as always for stopping by and leaving your comment.  I do appreciate all of them.  Have a great weekend.

Beary Birthday

Hello again!  It's Teapot Tuesday.  I've actually been busy working on some specialty cards which I can't share at the present, but will be able to in the weeks to come.  Lots of excitement (at least I hope).  For now, it's time to get to my current card.  This week we are sending our cards to a young man (9 years old) who has been going through some rough medical issues.  These cards are not for him though; he wants cards to be donated to the Pediatric Unit of the hospital to give to children that are in the hospital on their birthdays.  What a great kid and idea.  You can read about it HERE. Without further ado, here is my card -
This was pretty easy.  Materials used:
Stamps:  Image - Party Teddies; Sentiment - As Special.  Both were from Elzybells UK (retired)
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Cardstock - Stampin Up - Buckaroo Blue
Designer Paper - Basic Gray - Cupcake collection
Flower - Jolee Boutique
Colored by Copics - B0000, B91, B93, B95; E32, E34, E35; R24, Y08, Y18, YG61, YG63.

I'm also submitting this to Paper Sundaes - Theme Birthday.

That's all for today.  If you care to make a little boy happy and have the time, whip up your own birthday card and join the Teapotters in sending cards this week for a good cause.  Have a Happy Day!  As always, thanks for stopping by.  All comments sincerely appreciated.

Mum

Hi.  It's Wednesday again and time for another Perfect Sentiment challenge.  This week's challenge is to create a card with a sentiment appropriate for any season or holiday.  The sentiment must be on the front of the card.  The twist is to using the technique of Paper Piercing.  Without further ado, here's my card.
The holiday I chose was Mother's Day.  This week our sponsor is Bugaboo stamps and they provided a digi stamp to each member of the DT to use for our card this week.  We were able to pick out our own image. There were lots to choose from, but I chose this one because it was called "Margaret."  :)   Here is a link to their store.  Bugaboo stamps
I printed the image on Copic Blending cardstock and colored with my Copic markers.  The base of the card is Gina K 120# white cardstock.  I used was Stampin Up Baja Breeze for all the mats.  The paper is from Basic Gray Sweet Threads.  The sentiment is from SU's Fancy Flexible Phrases.  I stamped it using Baja Breeze ink and then punched it out using the SU small oval punch and popped it up to give it dimension.  I used the Nestabilities Classic Oval for the image and the Scallop Oval for the mat.  The flower is from Recollections.  The ribbon is from my stash.  I love this ribbon and wish I remembered where I got it from.  I used my Bowdabra to make the bow and then glued it to the strip of ribbon.  My card layout inspiration came from Pam Sparks.  Love her work.

The Copics I used were Outline - BG0000, Skirt - BG000, BG01, BG10, BG11; Hair - E23, E25, E27; Skin -E50, E51, E53; Lips - R29; Flowers - RV00, RV02, RV55, Y23; Blouse - YG00, TG01, YG21; Glasses - W1, W2.

Now that you've checked out my card, pop on over to Perfect Sentiments Challenge and check out the rest of the Design Team's creations and be inspired and then come join us and create your own card.  You could win the prize this week which is 7 free digi stamps or the equivalent of $21.  That is a fabulous prize.  Wish I could qualify.  ;)  Thanks for stopping by.  I appreciate all your comments.  If you Follow me, I'll follow you.

Teapot Blessing

It's that time of the week again.  Time for another Teapot Tuesday. MMTPT185.  Check it out.  Always go to the last post for the information about the person who will be the recipient of cards this week.  Here's just a little bit about Katy.  "Katy just graduated in May. After having been to the doctor, she was diagnosed with inflamation around her heart and liver. She is unable to take medication because her liver seems to be shutting down and medication is not good in this case as it can be detrimental to the liver. If she does not improve, she has been told she could have just 6 months to live. Katy loves the military and camouflage. Samantha, her sister, suggested cards in camouflage with hearts! How appropriate on this 14th day of February!"  I didn't have any camouflage, but I did hide my hearts.  Can you see them?
I just got this stamp set and love it.  You may see it a lot.  It comes with a variety of sentiments to stamp on the teacup.  It's called Teapot Blessings and it comes from Layers of Color.  The card was pretty simple to put together.  I used Stampin Up cardstock - Chocolate Chip, Real Red, and Blushing Bride.  The paper is also from SU - Love Simplicity.  The flower and glitter leaves are from Recollections.  I found the layout online and traced it back to a layout by Pam Sparks.  Check out her blog and her DT creations.

The Copics that I used were G000, G03, E00, E93; R21, R43, R46, W0.

That's it for this Tuesday.  Thanks for coming by.  If you want to make a young lady happy, join in and send a card to Katy.  Happy Valentine's Day.

Birthday Beauty

Wednesday is my oldest granddaughter's 18th birthday.  Her first away from home.  She's off to college and doing very well.  I know that she misses home and home misses her.  I made this card for her and I hope that it cheers her up.
The stamp is from Stampin Up's Birthday Beauty as well as the sentiment which I colored with my SU Ruby Red marker and then stamped the sentiment words side by side to make the banner.  The image is stamped with Tuxedo Memento Black on Copic Blending Paper.  The cardstock base is SU Chocolate Chip and the mats are all SU Ruby Red.  Her sash is metallic gold.  The paper is from Basic Gray's Sweet Threads.  I really love the BG's papers. The flowers are 1 paper flower and 2 resin flowers from Recollections.  I think I need to get some more.

I colored the image with my Copic markers:  Hair - E23, E25, E27; Skin - E50, E51, E53;  Rose - G05, R22, R27, R29; Dress - RV10, RV32, RV34, RV42; Crown - Y18, Y19; Outline - W0.

I'm also entering this in the My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club #58 challenge.

Thanks for stopping by.  I appreciate all your comments.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Flower for You - PSC18

Funny how those Wednesdays just keep rolling around every week.  ;)  Which means it's time for another Perfect Sentiments Challenge.  With Valentine's Day right around the corner, our theme this week is Inspired by LoveThe challenge is to create a card with a sentiment that lets someone know you "love them".  Sentiment must be on the front of the card.  This does not have to be for Valentine's Day.  The twist is to use this picture for inspiration.

Isn't this a beautiful setting.  I love the colors.  It gives a promise of Spring which is right around the corner.  Here is my card creation.

My image is Eline's Flowergirlz from Marianne Designs which I stamped with Memento Black on Copic Blending paper.  I've started using a heavier weight white cardstock for my base cards from Gina K Designs, the 120#.  It feels so much sturdier.  The paper I used is from Basic Gray Bittersweet paper pad collection.  The sentiment is from SU Fancy Flexible Phrases which I stamped using SU Melon Mambo on a little scrap of SU Whisper White and punched with a small oval punch and I popped it up using some dimensionals.  The bling is from Recollections.

I used my Copic markers to color the image:  B0000; G14, G17, G19; E50, E51, E53; R32, R35, R37, R39; R81; Y02, Y06, Y15; YR23; W5, W6, and W7.

Now that you've seen my creation, hop on over to Perfect Sentiments Challenge and see what the rest of the fabulous Design Team has come up with.

Then come play along with us.  You could win a prize.  Our sponsor this week is Shelly's Images and the prize is one free digital image.  I've checked out her store and the images are really cute.  I even ended up buying three for myself.

Check out her store.  She has some adorable images over there.

Wait....keep reading. There is more to win...

We are still a fairly new challenge blog; just in our second term and the team and we would love to see the participation grow. The most participants we have ever had on any one challenge was 15. So this week Jennipher is upping the stakes, so to speak! If we get 20 or more participants this week she will give away one free Christmas Digi for every 5 players up to a max of 10 winners. Winners will be chosen via random.org and digis will be from the selection she has  linked to. Good luck and tell all your friends!!

Boatload of Fish

It's time again for another Teapot Tuesday card.  This week the destination is Harrisburg, IL to the husband of one of our fellow Teapotters.  He had surgery on his shoulder so his fishing these days is somewhat curtailed until he recovers.  Meantime, we're going to cheer him up with some fishing related cards.  Read his story here --  Teapot Tuesday - 184.  You still da man Tig!
I didn't have much fish-related but dug out this cute boat stamp from Stampin Up's "Boatloads of Love" set which I stamped with Memento Black on a piece of Copic Blending Paper.  It was almost perfect, but it wasn't quite enough as to "fish."  Then as I was cruising the Internet yesterday at Shelly's Images I found this fish digi stamp called Hook, Line, and Sinker.  I thought it would be great for my card.  Didn't really like it by itself, but I was able to resize it down pretty small, color it, cut it out and toss it in the boat! Now Tig has a real catch.  I used the Splitcoaststampers.com Sketch Challenge layout SC252 for this card.  The base of the card is Gina K Designs 120# white.  The dsp is SU Uptown collection.  The stripe pattern is matted on SU Wild Wasabi and then paper layer is layered on SU So Saffron.  The ribbon is also from SU but I can't remember which collection it's from.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts - Thinking of You set which I stamped with Memento Black directly on the pattern paper.

The Copics I used were B0000; BG0000, BG000; RV0000; V20; Y21, Y23; YG61, YG63; W0, W1, W2, W4, W5, and W6.

I'm also entering this in The Outlawz Monday Greeting Card challenge.  This week it's Anything Goes.

That's it for today.  Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.  I appreciate all of them and if you become a Follower, I'll stop by your blog and leave comments there also.  Have a wonderful day!

Tossa Hearts

It seems like forever since I've updated my blog even though it's only been a few days.  I had a busy weekend with the humdrum household chores and errands yesterday and tonight my daughter and her family came over for dinner.  Yummy BBQ brisket in the crockpot.  I love crockpot meals.

Enough about that.  Getting to my card.
The image is Bildarama Tossa Hearts.  She's adorable.  I stamped her with Memento Black on Copic Blending Paper and colored her with my Copic markers.

The card base is Gina K white 120#  Makes a good sturdy base. The dsp is SU Love Speciality and is matted on SU Red Riding Hood.  The lace and roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The green leaves are SU Garden Green cut with Nestabilities Foliage die.  The image is cut and embossed using Nestabilities rectangle and matted on a piece of SU Red Riding Hood cut using Nestabilities Scallop rectangle.  The sentiment is from SU Fancy Flexible Phrases stamped with  Red Riding Hood on a piece of SU Very Vanilla and punched using the SU Window punch.

This is the inspiration photo for the CR84FN Color Challenge

This card is entered in challenges:
     The Outlawz Monday Greeting Card
     ABC Design Team February Challenge

Thanks for stopping by.  I appreciate your comments.  Hope you have a wonderful day!

Christmas Lili's

I work on Christmas cards all year long.  On Splitcoaststampers.com I signed up on the Christmas Card Challenge thread to make 6 cards a month so I'll have them all done by the end of November to get them in the mail for Christmas.  These are the last 3 that I made for January, just getting them in under the wire.  These images are all pre-colored from Lili of the Valley.  I love all the ones I got from them, so expect to see some more in the coming months.

This is from the Angelic Christmas collection.  I used Gina K White as my base.  It was a heavier weight cardstock.  I used SU Ruby Red for my layer base.  The dp is from Deja Views Fair Isle Christmas Collection.  I cut the squares 2 3/8 " and adhered them to the Ruby Red.  I just layered the image on another piece of Ruby Red and layered it over the dp base.  The flowers are from Prima Flowers Holiday Poisettias collection and I attached the flower layers together with a yellow brad and popped it on the card with a large Zots glue dot.

This is my Christmas Snowman card made the same way.
This is from the Time For Christmas collection at Lili of the Valley.

Here is my final card.  The image is from the Christmas Girls collection.
That's all for today.   I did use the Mojo Monday Sketch #12 for the layout for these.  Thanks for stopping by and leaving your comments.  I appreciate them all and hope you have a fabulous day.

Tin Man

It is NOT Tuesday, but this card was made for Teapot Tuesday only this week it's Tickle A Teapotter where we get to send a card to one of the other Teapotters.  How fun.  I love getting Happy Mail.  Check out this thread over on SCS if you want to join in the fun.  http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/teapot-tuesdays-f260/tickle-teapotter-~-xenas-antares-t547177.html  I also used the SC369 for the sketch layout.

This card just all fell together so easily, and I just love how it turned out.  The theme is Out of This World, so this just filled the bill just perfectly.  I used SU Soft Sky as my base card and layered some Basic Gray Archaic in different layers.  Love this paper, but I'm beginning to think I love all the BG papers.  I just can't go wrong.  The image is Tin Man from Technique Tuesday.  I stamped him with Memento Black on Copic Blending paper and distressed it a little bit using SU Going Gray ink.  I then matted it on a piece of the BG Archaic paper and layered that on the other layers of BG that I used.

I stamped the sentiment from Tin Man on GP white and used my corner rounder on 2 opposite corners and then layered it on the same piece of BG that I used for the image and also cut those corners and then popped it up on some SU Dimensionals.

To finish it off, I took 3 brown brads and cut the tails off of them and just glued them to the upper corner of the card.  The Copics I used were BG0000; C1, C3, C5, Y0000, and Y06.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my blog.  I appreciate all your comments and hope you have an awesome day.
