Christmas Fairy - OSAAT #252

Hi friends!  All ready for Christmas yet????  Hahahaha!  Well, I am just about. I'm going to be traveling over the holiday so I really needed to get all my shopping done and get my cards sent out early. Speaking of cards, I was really ambitious this year and made a few too many cards, so if you are a follower, but NOT one of those that I blog with (you're already getting a card) send me your address to my email (schoener@sbcglobal.net) and I'll be happy to send you some happy mail.

Now to my card for One Stitch at a Time.  We are taking a small vacation so this challenge will run for 4 weeks. We'll be back January 10, I believe. Plenty of time for you to play along.  Our theme this time is Anything Goes With Red. Since it's anything goes, it does not have to be a holiday project as long as you use red in it.

Or, you could be chosen as one of the Top 3 picked by members of the Design Team.  Have fun and have a fabulous and Merry Christmas or whatever holiday it is that you celebrate at this time of the year.

Christmas Jeep - OSAAT #251

Good morning friends.  I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. I know I did. We had out of town company with us this year - my older brother and his wife, and my cousin from Florida who comes to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with us every year. It's a tradition even though she now lives in Florida close to her sister.  Even with the little bit of rain we've had, we didn't let that stop us from all our family fun. That was three siblings together this year and we hope that one of these years my younger brother and his wife will be able to be here with us.

Now on to the business at hand.  Our challenge this time for One Stitch at a Time is Anything Goes With Winter. So show us those Winter-themed cards.  Here's mine.
Materials Used:
  • Image - Christmas Jeep from Sentimental Susan
  • Sentiment - Stampin Up - Happy Scenese
  • Cardstock - Stampin Up - Pear Pizzazz; Xpress It Blending Card

You could be the winner of this fabulous prize pack from our wonderful sponsor Stitchy Bear or picked as one of the Top 3.  Hope to see you there!

Rembrance Sunday

Wow!  Late!  I guess the time change really had an effect on me since I completely forgot to get this posted yesterday. Or maybe it's been the deluge of rain we've also been having. Luckily, it quit in time for the little ones to get out trick or treating. I had a few here this year. Anyway, better get to the business at hand.

The theme this time over at One Stitch at a Time is Anything Goes with Day of the Dead/Remembrance Sunday. I decided on Remembrance Sunday. I don't keep a lot of sympathy cards on hand and this month marks the first anniversary of my brother-in-law's passing. It was right before Thanksgiving last year.

Witch! OSAAT #248

Good morning my friends!  How's the weather where you are?  I hope it's as nice as it is here in H Town.  I think we're finally getting our Fall weather. Summer has hung around not wanting to leave with temps in the 90's. I don't look forward to the Winter cold though. I've been overwhelmed the last couple of weeks putting together 2 Power Point presentations that I presented yesterday at a Family History Fair. I've never done one like this where I had to do screen shots and then drop them in the Power Point program. I'm just so happy that it's finally over and done with and remind me never to say Yes again! ;)  Well, it went fine and the attendees did learn something so it was all good in the end.

On to the business at hand and that is we have a new challenge from One Stitch at a Time. The Theme is Anything Goes with Halloween Colors!  Such fun. I chose to go to the simpler side of creating this time.

Materials Used:
  • Image - Ken Benner - Witchbroom
  • Sentiment - Puff Boo from my stash
  • Cardstock - Stampin Up - Basic Black
  • Designer Paper - Authentique - Enchanted Collection
  • Accessories - Stampin Up Ribbon - Tangelo Twist
  • Copic Markers: E23, E25, E29; T6, T8, T10; V12, V15, V17; YG0000, YG01, YG21; YR04, YR05, YR16

And the prize should you take part and be chosen as the winner is the October Prize Pack.

I do hope you'll hop on over to the challenge blog and play along with us this fortnight. You could be the winner of this lovely Fall prize pack or be chosen as one of the Perfect 3!

That's it for today. Hope you all have a wonderful week!

Reveal for Mystery Swap

Hi my friends. Happy Saturday night. Hope you're having a great weekend. I had a busy day doing chores around the house. Big one - cleaning out the garage. I have a bunch of stuff that I want to hold a garage sale and see if I can sell it. Some things will get donated to our Area Ministry and some stuff just needs to go in the trash. Trying to get things cleaned up so I can set up my garage workshop where I'll have my machines - Cricut, Cuttlebug, Cameo, etc. I want to get them out of the storage room.

I have a card to share.  I belong to a group on Splitcoast called the Mystery Swap. on SCS.   We are doing a bi-monthly swap where we all receive the same mystery image, sent to us by the hostess.  This month Darlene is the hostess and she said she was going old-school as she picked a favorite stamp from years ago.  We all send the cards to her and she will swap the cards and send everyone 3 different cards, plus the next image, which will be provided by Melina.  Then we get to do it all over again with a new image.  Here's mine.

Materials Used:
  • Image and Sentiment - Hero Arts - Bouquets of Wishes
  • Cardstock - Recollections; Stampin Up - Tempting Turquoise
  • Designer Paper - Stampin Up - East Coast Prep
  • Accessories - Prima flower; brad and lace from my stash; Deckle scissors
  • Ink - Momento Tuxedo Black
  • Layout - SC243
  • Copic Markers - B00, B04; G40, G43, G46; RV55; Y13, Y19

Whisper of Tulips - OSAAT #245

Good morning my friends. I'm a little late getting this posted. I guess I was so excited about having a 4-day weekend, it completely slipped my mind. It's been a good week with another monarch caterpillar showing up and now it's formed its cocoon, so I should have another one to release in just a few days which will probably be the last one until Spring.

Since it's Sunday, it's time for another challenge from One Stitch at a Time and this fortnight's challenge is Anything Goes With Gratitude. What are you thankful for?  For me, family, friends, and all the beautiful nature that our Heavenly Father has provided to us.  Here's my card.

Materials Used:
  • Image - Kaz Kraftz - Whisper of Tulips
  • Sentiment - Stampin Up - Mixed Medley
  • Cardstock - Stampin Up - Primrose Petals; Xpress It Blending Card
  • Ink - Stampin Up - Primrose Petals
  • Designer Paper - LOTV - Nitwit - One Birdie Lane collection
  • Accessories - Spellbinders - Opulent Ovals Die, Classic Oval Die; Round punches (my scallop punch was too large so I had to punch with a round and then trim away the excess to make the scallops on the sentiment); Lace from my stash; Butterflies - gifted to me from my blogging buddy ibalady (Brandi)
  • Layout was inspired by my friend Leslie Miller. I just know her through blogging, but I love to visit her blog - Running With Scissors. She always inspires me and I love the way she showcases her flowers.
  • Copic Markers - B00, B0000; G24, G28; RV02, RV13, RV14; Y11, YG41, YG45; 0

Wishful Asha - Outlawz

Hello, Happy Sunday. It's been a really busy week - so much going on. The weather has been pretty good although we did get some rain. Expect some more the early part of this week too. At least I won't have to water the plants for awhile. I did find one more caterpillar on one of my Milkweed plants today. I noticed that one plant had all its leaves eaten off, so I knew there was one somewhere and found it nibbling on another plant. Now that I have my new butterfly hutch I was able to put a couple pots of Milkweed in there and then break off the piece that he caterpillar was on and put it in one of the pots, so hopefully it will have enough to eat in there. Hoping it will survive and make it's chrysalis so I'll have another butterfly to release.

I was hoping to get this card done before this, but  I always seem to be last minute. This is for The Outlawz Progressive Freebie challenge. If you haven't played yet, come on over and join in. Each month after you sign up, you'll be sent a free digital image to use in the next month's challenge. All you have to do is use it to make a card and post it on the website. I used some of the techniques for the skin and hair that I learned at the Copic's Workshop last weekend. I still need tons of practice, but I do like how she turned out.

Materials Used:
  • Image - Make It Crafty - Wishful Asha
  • Sentiment - Stampin Up - Happiest Birthday Wishes
  • Cardstock - Xpress It Blending Card; Stampin Up Orchid Opulence, Pear Pizazz, Crushed Curry
  • Designer Paper - Basic Gray - Plumeria

  • Accessories - Stampin Up scallop punch; Wild Orchid Crafts - Flowers; Lace from my stash; Bow Flourish Die; Martha Stewart Edge Punch and Leaf  Branch Punch

Hello my friends and happy Sunday. I hope you are all doing well. We have finally started getting some much-needed rain again. The last 2 months have been so hot and dry. We've had the HOTTEST July on record this year. The rain was very welcome.

This weekend I had a fun time. I attended 3 Copic Marker workshops - More Whimsical Faces & Hair; Values & Mono Tones and Dress for Success Coloring Clothing & Accessories. Michelle Houghton was our instructor.
I've been able to take a class every year and each time I learn something new and different and get to meet new people. I hope over the months to come I'll be able to put some of my new learning into use with my cards.

Now on to the business at hand.  This week at One Stitch at a Time our theme is Anything Goes With Our Four-Legged Friends.

Sweet Treats - Minty Ice Cream Cone - OSSAT #243

Hello, my friends.  How are all of you doing?  It's hot as blazes down here in H Town. We sure could use some of that rain we had way back a few months ago. I can barely stand to be outside at all. I did go out and work a little in my flower gardens and worked with my Milkweed plants trimming them up to get more plants for the Monarch butterflies to breed on. I was so excited this past week to have 3 of them hatch out of their cocoons and become beautiful Monarch butterflies. Now I think I may have a few more caterpillars on some new plants. I've got them tented, so I hope they'll be safe while they grow.

Well, on to my card for this fortnight's challenge over at One Stitch At A Time!  Our challenge for you this time is Anything Goes With Sweet Treats!  Yummy!  Here's mine.

The image is Minty Ice Cream Cone from Crafty Girl Designs. I used The Sweet Stack collection from DCWV and cut out some of the words on one of the sheets of dp for the sentiments. Then just added some pearls and some White Opal liquid pearls for the ice cream.  Copic Markers - E31, E33, E35. R22, R24, R27. I had used some markers for the M&M, but the liquid pearls kind of overpowered them, so I punched some circles out of c/s and put the M&M on them and glued them in the place where the original ones were.

Our sponsor this time is of course, our own Stitchy Bear Outlet Store and the prize pack this month for one lucky winner is :

I hope you'll hop on over to the challenge blog and see what the rest of the Design Team has done and then get yourself inky and join in the fun. You could be the lucky winner or one of our Top 3!  Good luck!

I am submitting this card for the following challenges:

Raggedy Ann - Monthly Challenge - July

Finally, my last card for the Monthly Challenge group for now. Waiting to see what we get for August. The Monthly Challenge is a group on Splitcoast Stampers. Each month one of the members sends a kit to the rest of the group including images, some dp, and embellishments. Then each member makes at least one card from the kit and sometimes more than that. Sometimes the Hostess has guidelines that we are supposed to follow. It's always fun and interesting to see what each member makes from the same kit. July's kit was sent to us by Kelly (Miamikel on SCS). I loved the story that she wrote us about why she picked this image. So sweet. She's always loved Raggedy Ann. She sent us a lot of red, white, and blue papers and embellishments. Oh, another favorite of Kelly's is buttons!  We were supposed to use buttons on our card and decorate the inside of the card. Well, I got one out of two anyway, LOL! Maybe I'll decorate it before I mail it off to someone.

It took me some time to figure out a good layout for this, but finally came up with this one. The buttons were in the kit and you can hardly see the red/white twine that I used for the blue button.

Materials used all from the kit:
  • Image - Crafting Desert Divas - Sew Raggedy
  • Sentiment - same as image
  • Cardstock - Stampin Up Real Red for the base; Recollections - Blue for mat
  • Designer Paper - Core'dinations-blue w/white dots; DVWV - red gingham
  • Accessories - Sew-ology - buttons; The Twinery - red/white twine
  • Copic Markers - B21, B23; C1; E0000, E01, N5, N7, N9; R24, R27

Right At Home - Monthly Challenge for June

Okay, here is post number 3 for today. Another card for the Monthly Challenge Group on Splitcoast Stampers.

This is the card for June and was sent by Debby (also Debby on SCS).  The image is from a retired Stampin Up set called Right at Home. Debby's challenge was to make a large card (she sent us the card base and an envelope for it) from Paper Studio.
Other Materials

Lazy Days of Summer - Monthly Challenge May

Here is  my second post for today for the Monthly Challenge. This card is from the May kit send by Dody (Beachbound on SCS). Dody's challenge was to make a card in 30 minutes or less. The image was already colored, so I didn't have to take time for that. All the ingredients of the card were from the kit except for the card base which we always provide for ourselves.

What more can I say about this. I love this stamp set from Stampin Up and it's one that I don't think I could ever part with. The colors were so soft and I wanted to keep it that way. I used Going Gray cardstock for the base and the image mat.

Rain Girl - Monthly Challenge April

Hi my friends and Happy Sunday. I have 4 posts today for you. I'm catching up on my Monthly Challenge cards from April. Yikes! It's been tough keeping up. 2 of the cards I had finished awhile back, but hadn't blogged them.

My first card is from April's kit from Jeanette (Forest Ranger on SCS). She wanted us to do some paper piecing and to decorate the inside of the card. Sadly I don't have a photo of the inside that I did, but it is just the sentiment on a piece of the corrugated paper that is on the left side of the outside of the card.

I used all the items in the kit for this card and included the bright yellow fabric flower for the sun. I only used a few Copic markers for her skin, hair, umbrella handle, and her shirt.

Copic Markers - E31, E34, E25; E50, E51, E53; YG01, YG61

Farm Boy

Hi friends! Another card to share with you today. I'm getting this one done under the wire. It's for The Outlawz Progressive Freebie challenge. If you haven't signed up yet and joined The Outlawz, you should. They have a different challenge every day. Always something going on for everyone. For this challenge, they will give you the image for free. All you have to do is use it to make your project for that month and post it on The Outlawz website. You could also win prizes! For this month, I wanted to really show off the image, so I sized him up a bit to fit on a long card. I just love making long cards. I also paired him with my new Dog Treats stamp by Julie Nutting from Prima.  Every boy has to have a dog, right!

I didn't do too much with it. Just used the designer paper mostly (October Afternoon's Farm Girl collection). I did get out one of my dies to kind of fill in that space on the right and added a bit of twine. I used Copic markers for the coloring. I really like the way his hair turned out.

Looking forward to Friday and the weekend. It's been a rough one here. I've been transferring frozen food each night from the old freezer to the new one to get it evened out. I can't do too much at once because it's so hot in the garage that if I keep the door open too long, the temp inside the freezer goes up quickly.

I am submitting this card for the following challenges:

Ruff Day Doghouse

Good morning.  I'm way late in posting this card. I was recently invited to join the Mystery Swap group on SCS which was originally started by Jeanette (Forest Ranger). This month the hostess was Kelly (Miamikel) and she sent us all this adorable dog image. I really had to dig deep into my creativity to come up with a design that I liked. I came up with this little scene.

Daddy's Girl - OSAAT #242

Hello friends and Happy Sunday!  The weather is staying pretty hot here in H Town. I've had to water a few times and I'm sure my water bill is going to be right up there! I went shopping for a new upright freezer yesterday and managed to get a good deal on one. It's supposed to be delivered on Tuesday which means 1/2 day off of work and then I can rearrange all the food that is in the other freezer and may be able to figure out what's in there! So much for that!

Today I've got another card for One Stitch at a Time with an image from Coosty Creations. Turns out that this image is of real people. I see so many images from different sponsors and mostly they are "make believe," so it's really cool when the image I use is of an actual person.

Materials Used:
  • Image - Coosty Creations - Daddy's Girl
  • Sentiment - Stampin Up - A Round Array
  • Cardstock - Xpress It Blending Card; Stampin Up Basic Black
  • Designer Paper - Digital Design from Coosty Creations
  •  Ink - Tuxedo - Memento Black
  • Accessories - Twine from my stash; Clef Die; Stampin Up scallop punch

As is our usual practice, Stitchy Bear Digital Outlet is our sponsor for this challenge. Our theme is Anything Goes With Children. I hope you'll come join us.  You could be the winner of the July Prize Pack or picked as one of the Top 3! Good luck!

Megan and A Fond Farewell to CK

Hi friends!  Happy Thursday. It has been really HOT down here in H Town these last few weeks ever since the rains have stopped. Everyone asked us to send them some and we did and now we don't have any left over for us. LOL!

Well, it is a day to say goodbye too. This is my last post as part of the Creative Knockouts Design Team. It's been a fun time working with all the ladies on the Teams and especially our leader Kelly. I learned a lot - especially to get out of my comfort zone and try different things. I hope I can continue to do that.

Our theme for this challenge is Paper Piecing, and I was so happy to get to do this one before I left. I recently bought some Julie Nutting Paper Doll stamps and couldn't wait to use one of them for my card. I chose to use Megan. Some people don't like them because they are big! But they are just right to use on a long card that will fit into a #10 business size envelope.

Materials Used:
  • Image - Julie Nutting - Megan
  • Sentiment - Stampin Up -
  • Cardstock - Stampin Up Whisper White, Ultrasmooth Vanilla, and Really Rust
  • Designer Paper - Stampin Up - Fall Flowers
  • Ink - Really Rust; Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Accessories - Ribbon from my stash; String Bow Die; Small Lace Doily Die; Stampin Up Scallop Round punch;
  • Copic Markers - E31, E51, E53; E15, E17, E18; E37; Y15, Y23
I have to tell you that I stamped Megan with Memento Ink onto a piece of Stampin up Ultrasmooth Vanilla and then used Copic Markers on her skin, hair and boots and had no problems at all with using the Stampin Up cardstock with my Copic Markers. The USV was great to work with and gave her a good base of color for her skin

The Sponsor for this challenge is Craft Classes Online and the winner of the prize will get a seat in one of their online classes worth up to $25!  Fabulous!  I hope you'll all come and join me this one last time as I say goodbye to Creative Knockouts and please hop on over to the challenge blog and see what they have prepared for you!

I am submitting this card for the following challenges:

Chillaxin' Corey - OSAAT #241

Hi and Happy Sunday! This week the weather has been hot, humid, and dry! You could cut the air with a knife. At least the monsoon season seems to be over for the time being, but of course, not it's back to watering the flower beds to keep them alive.

My allergy testing went well on Friday. On a scale from 3 - 6, all my reactions were a 3, so not a really big deal. Have not discussed anything with my doctor yet, but I don't see allergy shots in my future any time soon. I do have a long list of things that I reacted too including CAT HAIR and Dog Hair!  Well, you can be sure that I'm not getting rid of any of my fur babies either!

This week we're doing some Chillaxin' at One Stitch at a Time!  Here's my card -

Materials Used:
  • Image - Beary Dust - Corey
  • I left off the sentiment until I decide what I'm going to do with this card.
  • Cardstock - Stampin Up Soft Sky; Xpress It Blending Card
  • Designer Paper - Prima - Doodle Deux
  • Accessories - Bling from my stash; Flowers - Recollections & Petaloo; corner rounder punch; ticket punch
  • Copic Markers - B0000; BG02, BG10, BG11; E00, E11, E41; Y06, Y15, Y23; R83; YR00, YR16
Our sponsor of course is our own Stitchy Bear and one lucky winner will win the July Prize pack. You could also be picked as one of the Top 3. It is so fun seeing everyone's cards.

I hope you'll come on and join in the fun this week. Stop on over at the challenge blog and see what the rest of the Design Team has creaated for you.

Andrea's Picnic - CK #97

Hi my friends.  I hope you're having a great week!  The weather is finally turning Summer - warm and sunny. Sure hope the monsoon season is over for this year. Of course that means I'll have to start watering the flower beds, but I can handle that. tI have been able to start walking again. I don't walk outside - too hot. I work across the street from The Galleria Mall so I just walk across the street and then walk the Mall for 30 minutes. Feels good getting back into it.  Friday I have allergy testing scheduled first thing in the morning. Hope that they can figure out what I'm allergic to so the doctor can figure out what to do for it.

So with the talk of Summer, that leads me into our Creative Knockouts challenge for this week. The theme is Summer Fun.

Nolan & Bullfrog - CK #95

Hello friends. I hope you are all doing well. Things are pretty good down here in H Town. My foot is just about well with just a bit still of soreness in my toe. I now have 3 lovely wound marks on the front of my foot, but I'm putting some scar oil on it every day to see if that will help fade the marks over time. I'm also hoping to get back to doing my daily 30 minute lunch time walk next week. It's been a long time and I really miss getting out and away from my office for just a little while.

Today I have a card for the Creative Knockouts challenge - use your Buttons! How fun. Don't we all just have a huge stash of buttons that we never use. I'm glad to take this chance to use up a few of mine. In fact, I have a whole case of buttons somewhere and I can't find them. Lucky I had another stash that I got these from.

Today I have a new card for One Stitch at a Time. Our theme this time is Anything Goes With Men. Mine isn't exactly "with" men, but for a man! I decided to make it a Father's Day card.  It's very simple, but I like the way it turned out.
