Frosty Rory - Creatalicious No. 116

Hello again. I'm back for another blog post. Wow!  It was so good to be able to be in my stamp room the other day and be creative. I also took all the cards I've made and haven't given away (way too many) and organized them into plastic containers. I used the ones from the SU stamps that I've been unmounting. .They really fit very well. Glad that I figured out a way to use them instead of just throwing them in the trash.

So, here we are with another challenge for Creatalicious. For this fortnight, the challenge is Anything Goes with Using Your Favorite Colors.  My favorite holiday is Christmas and I love the non-traditional Christmas colors (blue and silver).  I haven't put a sentiment on this one yet. Not sure if I want it on the outside or just on the inside.

A Friend's Birthday - CYS May

Happy Memorial Day! I hope you are all enjoying a day off with friends and family or just chillin'. I spent time yesterday with my family. We were celebrating two high school graduations. My grandson (the youngest) and my youngest great nephew. Next we start on college graduations. It was a pleasant day with lots of fun chatting, food and photo taking. Can't believe he's all grown up.

Today has been a relaxing day away from school books. Yes, I'm taking a class and it is really tough. It's an online class so I can become a certified genealogist - one of my passions. I love the research and investigation part, not so much the reading and writing reports part. We'll see how it goes. It's only been two weeks and I still have about thirteen weeks more to go. I was able to spend time in my stamp room again. So nice to get back in there and get creative.

I made this card with a girlfriend in mind. She loves pink. I'm going to save it for her birthday. No, it doesn't look like a birthday card, but this sentiment really spoke to me about her.  Inside it does have a birthday with for her.
This card was also for the Challenge Your Stash challenge on SplitcoastStampers. Our hostess this month was Terry L. (terry0926 on SCS).  Our challenge was to ~~Use your favorite floral stamps for your focal image. You can make a card for any occasion, but make sure you focus on flowers
We are not allowed to go buy anything new to make our cards, it all has to come from our stash. I also checked out the gallery on SCS and found a card by Gosia Hoot that I loved and so this is my CASE card from hers. I'm a day late posting this, but once I picked out the stamp set and the layout, it came together pretty quickly.

Materials Used:
  • Image - Stampin Up - Bloom in Hope
  • Sentiment - Stampin Up - Feel Goods
  • Cardstock - Stampin Up - Blushing Bride
  • Designer Paper - Basic Gray - Bittersweet
  • Accessories - Nestabilities - Dies. For some reason I didn't put this one in my book and have no idea what it's called and I can't seem to find it online either so probably retired.
  • Copic Markers: G21, G24, G43; Y02, Y08; Y19; R81, R83, R85; 110.
That's it. Hope you have a great week!

Tickled Pink - CCC May

Good morning my friends. It's time for another card kit from the SCS Creative Card Chicks. Each month the hostess sends us all a kit with images, papers, embellishments and some direction and we are to make at least one card from the kit. This month it was Terry Serman's turn to send out the kit. I was happy to see that she used a retired SU set - Tickled Pink. I've always loved this set. So much fun.

Materials Used:
  • Image - Stampin Up - Tickled Pink
  • Sentiment - MFT - Tickled Pink
  • Cardstock - Stampin Up Pixie Pink; Gink K - Layering White
  • Designer Paper - American Crafts
  • Accessories - MFT Sun Die; Paper Studio Twine; K&Co. Pink Gems, gold stickles
  • Copic Markers - I put my markers away before I wrote down the colors that I used. I know that I used RV52, RV55, and RV63 for the flamiingo and G07 for the leaves.

Hooray for Hot Colors - IAS #8

Good morning my friends. I hope that those of you who are mother's with your own children or those who mother other's children in one way or another have a very Happy Mother's Day. I received a phone call from my daughter who lives in California last night and had a pleasant conversation with her. I have dinner plans tonight with my other daughter who lives here in Texas close to me. My grand children are going to fix dinner for us. Can't wait!

Today also is Challenge No. 8 for International Art & Soul. Our theme this time is Hot Colors. It hasn't gotten all that hot here in H Town yet, but I know that it will in time. Our summers can be brutal at times.

Super Hero Birthday!

Hi again my friends. I'm a little late getting this posted to my blog. I belong to a group on Splitcoast Stampers - Challenge Your Stash. The idea is that we create our card using only items that are already in our stash - no buying anything new. This month the idea came from Kelly (MiamiKel on SCS). The idea was to create a Super Hero card or a card with Super on it somewhere.
I was really worried about doing this card until I found this great digital image from Dover Publishing. The sentiment is a retired stamp from Stampin Up. The Lightning bolt is also from Dover Publishing.

I used my Copic Markers to color the image. What fun that was.
E23, E25, E27; E50, E51, E53; G21, G43, G82; R23, R27, R37; Y06, Y08, Y11, Y18; YR0000, YR09, YR15, YR27, YR61, YR68.

That's it for now. Thanks for stopping by.
