Hummingbirds - Challenge Your Stash

Hello again!  Post number 2 for the day. Can't believe it's the end of February already. We are ending on a chilly note. You know what they say - In like a lion, out like a lamb!

This post is for another group I belong to on Splitcoaststampers - Challenge Your Stash. The idea is to make a card using only things that you already have in your stash - nothing new. Our hostess for this challenge was LauraJean. She gave us the challenge to "Take Flight." Think things that fly.  I was looking through my 1000's of digital images and found this gorgeous one. I love hummingbirds and thought it would be perfect. The lighting makes that large flower look more purple, but it's kind of mauve.

  • Sentiment - Stampin Up - Good Greetings
  • Cardstock - Xpress It Blending Card; Stampin Up; Mauve Mist, Certainly Celery

Luck of the Irish - Creatalicious #110

Hi, here I am again. There is a lot going on right now including two posts in one day!  I haven't mentioned it before I don't think, but I've been having serious issues with my TV/Internet service. I don't want to mention who they are online, but after at least 8 months of dropped signal issues and other issues, I think it might finally have gotten fixed. I was inspired by a friend of mine who was having issues with her provider (not the same one) and wrote a letter to the  CEO of the company and they went out and fixed hers. So I tried the same thing. I wrote a letter to the CEO of my company and really didn't think I'd hear anything from them, but then last week I got a call from the President's office which started the ball rolling of getting a technician out to my house who actually knew what was wrong and how to fix it. That was last Wednesday. Since then I have still had a couple dropped signals, but not constant (3-4 during an hour show) like it had been. Today I got in touch with the technician who came last week to have him come back and tweak it a little more to see if he could get it working at 100%. He was going to come later, but then called me to tell me he was able to do it remotely without having to come to my house. Now it's a wait and see whether or not it's really fixed. Keep your fingers crossed!

So here's my card.

Tone It or Tan It

Hello my friends and Happy Sunday. I hope you are having a great weekend. I am not looking forward to the end of it and going back to work on Monday. But, if I want to eat and continue stamping, I guess it's a good idea to go. 😆

Sweet Petunia (or as I like to call her, The Little Hellion) is settling in and finding her place in the family. Unfortunately her only friend is Casper, but at least she does have one friend here who will play with her and not hiss or growl at her whenever she gets a little close. I can understand it though becauseen e sometimes I want to growl at her. Most often though she's still a little love and I can pick her up and love on her a little as long as it's not too intense.

Time to show my card. This one is for the Monthly Challenge Group I belong to on Splitcoast Stampers - Creative Card Chicks. This month was Carol's turn (momcgw on SCS). She sent a fun kit to get us thinking about Summer rather than all the cold Winter weather so many people have been getting. Not so much here. We've had a very mild Winter.
Materials Used:
  • Image - Art Impressions - Tan It
  • Sentiment - Art Impressions - Tan It

  • Copic Markers - B0000; B12, B21, B41; C3, C5, C7; E000, E11, E30; R20, R81, R83; Y18
That's it.  Can't wait to see what we get for next month.

Valentine Henry II

Hello my friends and another happy Sunday! Hope you are all doing well. We had an eventful week this past week. We have a new addition to our family. Her name is Sweet Petunia and I sure hope that she grows into that name. Currently she is a real feisty little kitty. I'll have to post a picture some other time. All of mine are on my phone and I need to upload to my computer. Her mom is Frosty who I took to have spayed last week. She went missing for a couple days but is now back in the fold in the backyard on the patio. She's doing well. Petunia has been crated since she came home Tuesday night, but I decided that yesterday she was coming out to mingle with the other 4 kitties. Well, that didn't go as well as I hoped it would.  It's 2 against 2. Paisley and Corey hiss and growl at her. Casper and Maggie Mae aren't quite sure, but they are being polite. Petunia doesn't let it get her down. She's all over the place. Oh, and she does not walk at all. She runs everywhere! Today she learned how to get on my bed, so that's where she's curled up right now. I put her back in the storage room at night where she can eat in peace since I know the other kitties would be her best friend so they could get at her food. It worked well last night. And then I gave her breakfast in there also. I will probably keep that up for some time while she's still eating kitten food. There is dry food out in the house where the other kitties eat, so she does have access to food during the day when she gets hungry although I have not seen her eat any of that yet. So wish us luck that they will all decide to live in some sort of harmony.

Now, getting to my card for today. I had colored another copy of Valentine Henry, so I decided to go ahead and make another Valentine card. This one is quite simple.

Valentine Henry - IAS #1

Hi my friends.  I have some big news to share with you. You may remember that I was on the Design Team for One Stitch at a Time awhile back, but then had to step down. They were a great group to work with and I really missed being a part of that group. Recently I learned that Stitchy Bear was closing its shop's doors and that OSAAT was going to also be closing down. Sad yes, but then I heard from Jane who was our leader over there and she told me that she was starting a new challenge blog  group named International Art & Soul. It's Just For Fun - no prizes, but great badges for your blog if you are a winner. Jane asked me and the other designers from OSAAT to come back to the new group as the design team. How could I saw no, so here I am with my first card for the new International Art & Soul challenge. You will see that I have a list of all their blogs on the left side of my blog. I hope you'll go ahead and check them all out as you play along with us. The theme is always Anything Goes, but there is also a Twist.  This time the Twist is "Love Is In the Air." With Valentine's Day right aroun the corner, this is perfect.  Here is my card.
